Building HSC Planner From Idea To Product

HSC Planner started with a simple observation: HSC students in Bangladesh juggle a heavy study load with very few tools built specifically for how they actually study. Agency XYZ set out to build a focused productivity platform around that exact problem.

The Problem

Students preparing for HSC exams typically manage their study schedule across notebooks, memory and scattered reminders. There was no single place to plan study sessions, track progress across subjects, and stay on top of upcoming tasks and deadlines.

The Approach

Rather than building a broad, feature-heavy platform, the first version of HSC Planner focused narrowly on three things: a weekly study schedule, task tracking, and simple progress visibility across subjects. Keeping scope tight made it possible to ship a usable product quickly and refine it based on real student feedback.

What It Became

HSC Planner today gives students a dashboard view of their upcoming schedule, tasks and study progress, along with lightweight productivity tools like a focus timer, so studying stays organized without adding extra overhead to a student’s day.

The Bigger Lesson

HSC Planner is part of Agency XYZ’s broader shift from service work toward building its own products — real tools, built for a real, well-understood problem, rather than trying to be everything for everyone.
